Miss Turinsky was one of the smartest basketball players to have played for Danbury.
Her quick thinking and court awareness allowed her to play the game at a high level. Miss Turinsky was a solid, steady force for the Lakers during her career.
Her mainstay on offense was her near flawless jump shot, her shot mechanics allowed her to shoot near 40% in each of her four seasons.
Miss Turinsky should also be remembered as a hard worker and a dedicated player, who truely loved the game of basketball. In the summer of 1995, Miss Turinsky suffered a severe tear to her ACL and had surgery in August. Yet with her desire and solid work ethic, she was able to return during the first week of January 1996 and play in 13 regular season games.
Miss Turinsky joined the Laker thousand point club, scoring her one thousandth point during her senior season.
Miss Turinsky established a new benchmark for freshmen season scoring with a 14.0 points per game average.
