(Tiffin Columbian) - Danbury opened to a strong first quarter against the number two seeded Crimson Streaks, however St. Joe stormed ahead with a 19-1 second quarter and never looked back.

Brittany Bird led the Lakers with 10 points. Danielle Twarek, Sarah Kovach, Kim Zura, Erin Steinbrick and Melissa Lukac rounded out the Lakers scoring column.

The Lakers' season on the brink, came to a close with a 8-14 record. The team will graduate seniors Stacey Stetler, Amber Portales and Diane Meterko.

During the year the young Lakers saw 11 different starters. Due to injuries and sickness. The Lakers will return one senior in Melissa Lukac, nine juniors and six sophomores. The Danbury eight grade team won the Toledo Area Athletic Conference championship and will add to the talent level and depth of the overall program.

The team begins its most important summer of their careers as they move toward the 2004-2005 campaign.
